Secluded at Makena Resort on a perfect .25 mile of a beach at the foot of Haleakala, the Maui Prince Hotel is a sanctuary. The entire hotel is built around an Asian meditation garden with stone paths, quiet corners for contemplation, waterfalls, and streams swarming with brilliant red and gold carp. The roof is the sky. The door of every room opens to this atrium, while the windows and lanai look out upon the ocean. Most people settle into the immediate serenity and find themselves sitting beside the pool or on the beach, watching all the little white boats streaming to Molokini. And if the sea is calm, they may hear the great humpback whales singing in the deep. - Makena North Golf Course Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Makena North Course opened in 1993 to rave reviews. The North Course feels more like a nature walk than a golf course, with captivating mountain views of Haleakala Crater and sweeping views of the blue Pacific Ocean. Hawaiian rock walls remain where they were found, and natural gullies and stream beds are left intact. - Makena South Golf Course Sharing the spirit that embodies the Makena Resort, the South Course provides the serenity and tranquility many golfers are looking for. With its natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains, the South Course is a favorite among many Maui golfers. Both courses are owned and operated by the hotel. The South Course was recently renovated and re-opened in January 2002.     Located on the southern shores of Maui, the Maui Prince Hotel is the only hotel at the 1800 acre Makena Resort. The hotel is situated on the crescent shaped Maluaka Beach and rests above a tranquil lake filled with beautiful red and gold Japanese Koi.

    Restaurants: PRINCE COURT - Our award-winning fine dining restaurant, the Prince Court, features a seasonal menu. In summer, the emphasis is on freshest seafood from Maui waters - tuna, snapper, and even deep-water lobster. The winter menu offers surprises of game: venison, pheasant and lamb. Evening Resort Attire, collared shirt, dress shorts or slacks acceptable. Closed Tuesdays. - HAKONE - Hakone is easily the finest Japanese restaurant on the island, offering both a traditional and tropical Japanese menu. Our chefs prepare not only traditional sushi with absolute integrity, but from his own repertoire of more than a hundred specialties. Evening Resort Attire - collared shirt, dress shorts or slacks acceptable.
